LABRUM London has unveiled its latest collaboration, this time joining forces with British retailer John Lewis on a 38-piece capsule collection. Designed by LABRUM founder Foday Dumbuya in partnership with John Lewis’ in-house team, the range continues the brand’s mission of uniting African heritage with Western design codes while delivering wardrobe staples with a modern edge.
Dumbuya, celebrated for his storytelling approach to fashion, has built a reputation through bold collaborations, from designing Sierra Leone’s official Olympic kit with adidas to reimagining Tupac’s legacy with the Shakur Estate. Fresh off a theatrical London Fashion Week show, LABRUM now extends its reach to the high street through this carefully curated partnership.
The capsule blends LABRUM’s West African-inspired streetwear with the timeless practicality John Lewis is known for. Textile experimentation is a central theme: pieces are crafted from lambswool, cotton-merino-cashmere blends, and supple leather. The collection is marked by LABRUM’s Nomoli logo and intricate jacquard detailing, balanced with streamlined silhouettes that keep the range versatile and accessible.
Color plays a key role, with an autumn-ready palette of deep navy, earthy browns, burnt orange, mustard yellow, and soft neutrals. The result is a collection that feels both distinctive and wearable, rooted in cultural storytelling yet adaptable for everyday life.
This collaboration also reflects John Lewis’ wider strategy to refresh its fashion offering, spotlighting a mix of luxury heritage brands alongside rising designers. By working directly with Dumbuya, the retailer taps into LABRUM’s unique narrative while expanding its appeal to new audiences.
The John Lewis x LABRUM London capsule will launch on October 21, available in five John Lewis stores across the UK and online via the retailer’s website.
