Stone Island celebrates the Lunar New Year with a special capsule marking the Year of the Horse. Revered as a symbol of strength, vitality, and decisive movement, the horse mirrors the brand’s forward-thinking design philosophy.
The collection revolves around two colors—gold and dark brown—both associated with good fortune. Key pieces include a stand-collar jacket, relaxed joggers, a cap, and a sling bag, all crafted from Stone Island’s signature NYLON METALfabric. This material achieves its signature shimmer through a unique weave: only the nylon threads are dyed, while the polyester threads retain their original hue, creating a dynamic, iridescent effect.
In the dark brown pieces, a golden polyester thread is incorporated into the weave. When dyed, this thread enhances depth and intensifies the fabric’s color-shifting quality.
Graphics and branding are deliberately understated. Logos appear blurred—a nod to the horse’s speed and movement—drawing inspiration from the brand’s archives.
The campaign was shot in Hu Zhou by photographer Chiang Ming Shih, with a supporting film by Lyu Qing. Actor and equestrian Ethan Juan, a longtime friend of the brand, stars in the campaign, reinforcing the collection’s equine inspiration.
