Camper and CAMPERLAB Reopen in Barcelona

Words by kojojumah

Camper has reopened its flagship store in Barcelona, bringing fresh energy to the city’s Eixample district. The redesigned space, envisioned by local designer Max Enrich, reinterprets the idea of a shoebox at human scale, creating an immersive environment that plays with perspective and invites discovery.

From the outside, a large window frames the interior like a stage, drawing visitors into the Camper universe. Once inside, the atmosphere shifts to one of calm and warmth. The ground floor is entirely clad in birch wood—covering walls, floor, and ceiling in a continuous surface that absorbs and softens natural light. Within this serene setting, shoes are displayed on minimalist stainless-steel frames, their simplicity allowing the footwear to take center stage. A sculptural fiberglass piece anchors the space, serving both as seating and as part of the display, merging functionality with artistic expression.

Ascending to the mezzanine, visitors encounter an entirely different mood: the world of CAMPERLAB, Camper’s experimental line. Here, textured blue carpet envelops the floor, offering a bold contrast to the quiet, wooden calm below. The environment feels more playful, less predictable, and reflects the innovative spirit at the core of CAMPERLAB.

The two levels represent two sides of the same identity—serene and experimental, timeless and forward-thinking. Together, they embody Camper’s vision of creativity, craftsmanship, and curiosity. By placing both universes under one roof, the new flagship is not only a retail space but also a reflection of the brand’s philosophy: that design is both everyday and extraordinary, both simple and surreal.

With this reopening, Camper reinforces its connection to Barcelona while offering visitors a unique experience that goes beyond shopping. The store becomes a gateway to how Camper imagines the world, inviting everyone to step inside.
