Toyota has officially unveiled the all-new Land Cruiser FJ, marking the latest evolution of one of the world’s most iconic off-road vehicles. Set to launch in Japan around mid-2026, the FJ represents Toyota’s continued dedication to durability, adventure, and the spirit of freedom that has defined the Land Cruiser for over 70 years.
Originally introduced as the Toyota BJ in 1951 — famously the first vehicle to climb to the sixth station of Mount Fuji — the Land Cruiser has become a global symbol of reliability and rugged capability. With more than 12 million units sold across 190 countries, it has long been trusted to take people “anywhere and everywhere, and bring them back safely.”
The new Land Cruiser FJ joins Toyota’s established lineup alongside the 300, 70, and 250 Series. While it inherits the brand’s off-road DNA, it also introduces a new layer of personality — defined by the concept of “Freedom & Joy”. Compact, agile, and designed for customization, the FJ offers a modern interpretation of adventure while retaining the toughness that enthusiasts expect.
Visually, the FJ blends heritage and modernity. Its boxy silhouette, flared fenders, and chamfered edges evoke classic Land Cruiser styling, while removable bumpers and MOLLE panels invite personalization for every kind of explorer. Inside, the cabin emphasizes intuitive control and visibility, with a horizontal dashboard layout, ergonomic switches, and Toyota Safety Sense for peace of mind both on- and off-road.
Built on a refined IMV platform, the FJ features a shorter wheelbase for greater maneuverability and impressive ground clearance for true off-road performance. With its balance of capability, comfort, and character, the Land Cruiser FJ reaffirms Toyota’s promise: a vehicle built not just to reach destinations, but to inspire journeys — wherever they may lead.
