At Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, Xiaomi unveiled the Vision Gran Turismo, a wind-sculpted hypercar concept designed around the behavior of air at extreme speeds. Presented both as a drivable concept inside the Gran Turismo universe and as a full-scale physical model at the event (March 2–5), the project represents a collaboration between Xiaomi’s design teams in Munich, Beijing, and Shanghai.
Unlike many hypercars that prioritize either low drag for straight-line speed or downforce for cornering, the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo aims to balance both. Its teardrop-shaped body integrates cutouts, ducts, and channels that guide airflow through the car rather than relying on external wings. Air enters through front openings, flows through internal channels within the body, and exits at the rear, helping stabilize the vehicle while maintaining speed.
The aerodynamic approach defines the vehicle’s overall silhouette. From the side, the cockpit resembles a droplet embedded within a larger aerodynamic shell, turning the body itself into a functional airflow system.
Inside, Xiaomi introduces the “Sofa Racer” cockpit, a continuous interior loop that merges seat, dashboard, and door panels into a single enveloping structure around the driver. The seat uses breathable 3D-knitted fabric designed to allow air to pass through, reinforcing the car’s airflow-focused philosophy.
Technology also plays a central role. The vehicle integrates Xiaomi HyperVision, a display interface that adapts to different driving modes, alongside the XiaoAi AI Assistant and Xiaomi MiMo model, which interact with the driver through light, sound, and touch.
Aerodynamic innovation continues at the rear, where a halo-shaped taillight surrounds the air outlet and works with an Active Wake Control System. Using speed and angle data, it directs air away from the back of the car, replacing the need for a traditional spoiler. Specialized wheel covers with internal fins further reduce drag while cooling the brakes.
With this concept, Xiaomi becomes the 36th brand to join the Vision Gran Turismo program and contributes the 51st concept to the series.
