Zellerfeld is shaking up the sneaker game again—this time teaming up with Nike for an exclusive release of the Air Max 1000 in “Black”, dropping August 19.
This isn’t just another colorway. This is a fully 3D-printed version of the classic Air Max 1000, brought to life through Zellerfeld’s industry-leading tech. The result? A sneaker that looks like it was sculpted rather than stitched, with webbed textures and complex geometric patterns that traditional methods simply can’t replicate.
The “Black” colorway in particular turns up the drama. The all-black palette brings out every angular line and layered detail, giving the shoe a futuristic, almost armored aesthetic. It’s bold, it’s aggressive, and somehow still sleek.
What Makes This Drop Special?
For one, it’s exclusive to Zellerfeld—you won’t find it at traditional retailers or on SNKRS. Originally rumored to be limited to just 300 pairs, Zellerfeld has now clarified that while it will be a limited release, that number isn’t set in stone. Either way, expect these to move fast.
The timing also matters. Nike’s been exploring new manufacturing approaches, and this collab signals a bold step forward. Pairing their heritage silhouette—the Air Max 1000—with Zellerfeld’s boundary-pushing process is a big statement about where sneaker production might be heading.
What About the “Oat” Version?
While the “Black” pair is exclusive to Zellerfeld, the “Oat” colorway will be available via a 10-minute drawing on the Nike SNKRS app, making both colorways rare in their own right—but accessible in different ways.
