Adidas and the French Rugby Federation (FFR) have unveiled a special-edition collection celebrating 120 years of “Le Crunch” — the iconic rivalry between France and England, and one of the most historic matchups in European rugby.
Designed to honour both heritage and contemporary style, the collection blends on-pitch performance with fashion-led lifestyle pieces. It is divided into two complementary ranges: a performance line created for players and supporters during match moments, and a culture-wear line inspired by rugby’s long-standing influence on everyday style.
The performance range includes a replica match jersey, pre-match jersey, shorts and a jacket, engineered with adidas’ CLIMACOOL technology to help keep athletes cool and dry during play. Alongside this, the lifestyle collection introduces a cardigan, polo shirt, T-shirt, jacket, trousers and shorts that reinterpret traditional rugby aesthetics through a modern lens.
Design references throughout the collection draw directly from the history of the France–England rivalry. The match jersey recalls the light blue kit worn by the French team in 1906 for their first match against England, while the 1927 FFR crest commemorates the year France secured its first victory in the fixture. Tricolore stripes pay tribute to French rugby kits of the late 1980s and 1990s, when adidas previously supplied the national team.
A key feature of the collection is the return of the adidas Trefoil logo to French rugby, marking its first appearance in the brand’s latest partnership with the federation. The jerseys also feature a traditional collar, reinforcing rugby’s classic and timeless aesthetic.
The standout piece is a heritage cardigan inspired by archival photographs from 1924, when French players were seen wearing similar garments off the field — an early symbol of rugby’s influence on style and culture.
The adidas x FFR “Le Crunch” collection launches from 2 March 2026, starting at €45, and will be available at selected adidas retailers and online.
